According to the Lebanese press agency, Al Khabarpress, President Bashar al-Assad convened a meeting of his joint chiefs of staff to respond to the attack on the stockpile of Yakhont missiles in Latakia.

The operation was conducted by Israeli commandos.

Syria is said to be preparing a much larger deployment of Yakhont anti-ship missiles.
