The Permanent Representative of the Syrian Arab Republic to the UN, Bashar Jaafari, sent a letter to the Secretary General and to the President of the Security Council to denounce the Turkish army’s support to international terrorism.
Friday, 21 March 2014, violent clashes broke out at the Kassab border checkpoint where the Turkish army has facilitated the crossing into Syria of hundreds of foreign mercenaries affiliated to the Al-Nusra Front (Al-Qaeda) and the Saudi-backed Islam Army.
Ambassador Jaafari stressed that Turkey was in breach of Security Council resolutions 1267 (1999), 1373 (2001) and 1624 ( 2005). He called on the Security Council to condemn these acts.
Turkey is a NATO member .
For their part, the Foreign Affairs Ministries of the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China addressed this situation by saluting the victories this week of the Syrian Arab army over terrorist groups, in accordance with relevant UN resolutions. Syria has liberated the city of Yabroud and the Krak des Chevaliers, cleansing the Lebanese border of all foreign terrorists.
In the context of the corruption and embezzlement investigation going on in Turkey, the judicial authorities established that the Prime Minister had secretly received on several occasion his friend, Yasin al-Qadi, wanted by the United Nations in his capacity as the banker of Al-Qaeda [1] .
