Speaking before the representatives of the D8 (a group of 8 developing countries made up of Bangladesh, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Pakistan and Turkey), the Iranian president denounced the world financial system.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad sustained that over the past 30 years the United States printed 29 000 billion dollars worth of Treasury bonds and fiat money without any real backing. With this fictitious currency, they took possession of the world’s most important resources, pulling off "the greatest robbery in the History of humanity".
