Raul Castro Participates in Second Session of Seminar on Project of Guidelines for Social and Economic Policies

HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 12 (acn) President Raul Castro attended on Thursday the second session of a seminar on the Project of Guidelines for Social and Economic Policies that is underway at the Ñico Lopez Higher School of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC) in Havana with the participation of 523 leaders and specialists who will conduct a nationwide process of discussion of the project at the grass-roots level.

On Thursday, participants and members of the Political-Economic NCommission of the Sixth PCC Congress —scheduled for April 2011— exchanged opinions about the model of economic management, macroeconomic policies and foreign economic policies included in the document.

They also discussed topics related to investment policies, science, technology and innovation, and social policies.

Raul also participated in the first session of the event on Wednesday.

This seminar, which will run through Saturday, is attended by members of the Politburo and the Secretariat of the PCC’s Central Committee, ministers and Government vice presidents.

Also present are leaders of the PCC, the Young Communist League (UJC), grass-roots organizations, the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces as well as members of the National Association of Economists and Accountants and journalists.
