In a brief, dated from July 26th 2013, we revealed that, according to SouthWeb, Academi (former Blackwater) had been bought off by Monsanto [1].

Yet, SouthWeb backtracked on this information and refuted it. According to it, Monsanto did in fact have recourse to the services of the most important mercenary army in the world, but only in order to gather information, and thus did not acquire it. The website does not specify the source of it’s mistake.

Therefore, Academi was not bought since 2010.
