Germany has agreed to sell to Israel two guided missile destroyers, valued at one billion euros, reported German daily Bild on 7 December 2013, without citing sources.
These ships, equipped with torpedos, are to be used to protect Israeli pipelines, hinted the daily. It specified that Yossi Cohen, Israel’s National Security Adviser, was in Berlin during the past week to discuss weapons.
The German authorities signed a secret military assistance agreement with Israel during a joint ministerial council that was held in Berlin, on 18 January 2010.
