Official communiqué of the 7123rd (closed) meeting of the Security Council

Held in private at Headquarters, New York, on Friday, 28 February 2014, at 3 p.m.

In accordance with rule 55 of the provisional rules of procedure of the Security Council, the following communiqué was issued through the Secretary-General in place of a verbatim record:

“At its 7123rd meeting, held in private on 28 February 2014, the Security Council considered the item entitled ‘Letter dated 28 February 2014 from the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations addressed to the President of the Security Council (S/2014/136)’.

“The President invited the representative of Ukraine to participate in the meeting in accordance with rule 37 of the Council’s provisional rules of procedure.

“The President invited Mr. Oscar Fernández-Taranco, Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs, to participate in the meeting in accordance with rule 39 of the Council’s provisional rules of procedure.

“The Security Council heard a briefing by Mr. Fernández-Taranco.

“The Security Council heard a statement by the representative of Ukraine.”
