Sergueï Taran

Serguei Taran, doctor of Political Sciences from Duke University, was one of the top figures of the rebellious student movement "Pora", which contributed to overthrow president Kuchma during the “orange revolution”. Taran took different way from Pora’s political training and founded in Kiev the Institute of Mass Media that defends freedom of press, as well as the Ukrainian branch of the Institute for Democracy whose public objective is to export democracy to former Soviet Union countries.
