Cuban President Raúl Castro Ruz received Tillman Thomas, Prime
Minister of Grenada this Monday in this capital.
After the notes of the corresponding national anthems of both countries were played, the Grenadian leader, along with Raul, reviewed the ground, sea and air troops from the Special Unit of Ceremonies of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, formed in the Revolution Palace.
The two dignitaries greeted the delegations of both nations and afterwards they held official talks.
On the Cuban part, attending the ceremony, were Jose Ramon Balaguer Cabrera, Minister of Public Health, Marcelino Medina, Acting Foreign Minister and Angel Raigosa, Cuban Ambassador to Grenada.
The Grenadian leader arrived on Sunday in this capital, invited by the Cuban President, and during his stay he will preside over the closing of the Joint Commission between the two nations and will also participate in several activities.
His first visit to the island took place on December 2008 on the occasion of Cuba CARICOM Summit, held in Santiago de Cuba.
Thomas, 63, is a lawyer, economist and graduate of Legal Education, who assumed his current position in 2008.
He also serves as head of Legal Affairs, National Security, Public Administration, Culture and Information and Communication Technology.
